It's all happening in August!
The Lughnasa Festival in Macroom returns for it's second consecutive year, running from August 16th to 22nd. This years highlights willl include Mick Flannery and Damien Dempsey on Friday 20th. Tickets are available at tickets.ie. The weeks line up will include Ceol O Mhuscrai, Two Time Polka, Artisan Markets, Children's Pavement Art, Cookery Demonstrations and much more!
Other August Gigs include - An evening of Irish Stories, Poetry and Traditional Concertina at The Briery Gap Theatre on Sunday August 15th.
And Christy Moore in Solo Concert also at The Briery Gap on August 17th.

Where In The World?
One of the most frequently asked questions we receive from potential customers at The Castle Hotel is: 'Where is Macroom located?' So here is your answer!
- Macroom is situated on the national primary route N22, approximately 38 km from Cork city and 48 km from Killarney.
- Macroom is a market town in the South West of Ireland located in a valley on the River Sullane, a tributary of the River Lee.
- There is an hourly bus service to and from Cork city. Macroom's nearest airport is Cork Airport.

- Some of the most popular things to do in Macroom are: leisurely strolls by the banks of The Sullane River, afternoons of fun learning to water ski & a family day out at Millstreet County Park.
- Most of our visitors will spend a day visiting Kinsale, Ireland's gourmet capital and a picturesque harbour town.
- Within Macroom and The Castle Hotel there is a 16 m deck level heated pool, kids pool, spa bubble pool, steam room and gym.
- Tuedays are a great day to wander around the colourful old world town and sample the local produce at the weekly market stalls.
- Traditionally, it is said that Macroom is "the town that never reared a fool."
